Jury Finds Andrew Auernheimer Guilty of Conspiracy to Violate the CFAA and Identity Theft

On November 21, 2012, after a week long trial, a jury sitting in the Federal District Court for the District of New Jersey found defendant Andrew Auernheimer guilty of conspiracy to violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and identity theft. Mr. Auernheimer, a Firm client, was accused of conspiring to illegally access ATT’s iPad servers in June of 2010 and obtain email addresses, as well as the knowing possession and transfer of those email addresses to members of the media. Mr. Auernheimer is filing an appeal with the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
